FIM KANJIŽA
INSULATION MATERIAL FACTORY
FIM Kanjiža, seated in Kanjiža, Serbia was founded in 1979 and it was
the first factory of this kind built on the basis of domestic knowledge,
equipment and technology.
For production of insulation material we use high-quality bitumen
from some well-known refineries of the region which makes possible
manufacturing of membranes and masses for waterproofing of highest quality.
The company’s main production program consists of
bitumen-based materials for waterproofing, i.e. membranes
for waterproofing and waterproofing masses.
With annual production exceeding 6 million m2 of membranes and
4 million kg of waterproofing masses, our factory has become
the most famous manufacturer in the region within a relatively
short time period. Expansion on foreign markets has always been
our goal set on part of the company’s management as from the very
beginning. Even during the test production phase, FIM marketed
its goods to Italy, Austria, Germany, Iraq and Belgium. In 2006
we expanded this range of countries with new customers in
Australia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, etc.
Development of products and technical & technological innovations
providing a basis for current production of more than 100 products
have resulted from the development work of the factory’s engineers.
FIM Kanjiža disposes of a modern laboratory and has been pursuing
successful cooperation with scientific institutions and other producers
of waterproofing materials for many years. Reconstruction and modernization
of technological lines has been implemented fully utilizing all possible
resources and opportunities. Improvements are continuously being made for
purpose of keeping production on the European level. Recently, in addition
to production of membranes and masses for waterproofing, we have acquired
production of the road bitumen FIM – PmB.
The actual production program
is expanded by a new group of products for thermal insulation.
Significant investments in equipment were made in 2004 and
manufacturing of thermal insulating material – EPS plates
according to the top technology was launched. Its annual
production capacity amounts to 150.000 mł at 15-30 kg/mł
styropore density.
The above figures clearly show commitment on part of FIM
to achievement of high quality and wide range of products
by continuous investments in development and modernization
of its production.
In this respect FIM is unique in this branch of production
as evidenced by many buildings made by utilizing its insulation
material. FIM applies effective Quality Management System fulfilling
requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standard as certified by BSI Company
from Great Britain.
During 2005 another substantial change occurred
in work and business operations of the Insulation Material Factory. NIS – The Serbian Oil Industry, as the majority owner, rendered a
decision on trading of its shares. Other shareholders of FIM also
joined this initiative. A famous group TEGOLA CANADESE, including
its members GENERAL MEMBRANE, ISOLTEMA, TEGOLA CANADESE and TEMA
purchased app. 90% of FIM’s shares by takeover bid whereby it became
the Company’s majority owner. The privatization carried out meant a
big step in the company’s development which, thereby, became a member
of a worldwide grouping in this area of production. Perspectives for
further development of the whole scope of activities of FIM were
opened. |

A structural reorganization of the company has
been made in the first place for purpose of getting the company’s business
operations closer to the world standards. Increase in work productivity per
worker and efforts aimed at full utilization of installed facilities have
become the main goal of the development strategy.
After implementation of the reorganization,
significant investments are planned, primarily for further modernization
of technical and technological process. For purpose of continuous fulfillment
of all needs and requirements of our customers, expansion of storage capacities,
as well as modernization and rationalization of loading and unloading of goods is
planned. In addition to permanent investments in the production process, we emphasize
improvement of work conditions and work environment not only in production, but also in
accompanying activities.
